Block only: 6" x 5" x 3.5".
19th to early 20th century.
Kayanic Dayak complex, Borneo Island, Indonesia.
Small metal knife blades (missing) were stuck parallel and close together in the top of the main block.
Long rattan pieces would be pulled between the two knife blades and cut to create ever smaller widths.
Thinner pieces could be cut, but moving the blades closer together. Rare example with mask and dragon motifs.
