52: Ikat Dyed Wall Hanging. Uzbek, Central Asia. Private Collection, New York (part of the Guido Goldman Ikat Collection and published in the book “Ikat”). This is the very first art object I ever bought (about 1974) and spent more money on it at the time than I did for my first car! I was obsessed with finding more examples, which led me to foreign travel and ultimately the business of buying and selling tribal art.
