4237: Ritual Knife.
Likely Kayanic-Dayak. Borneo Island, Indonesia..
Bone, wood, metal. L: 16" (40.6 cm).
Unusual knife that resembles a Dohong, but likely has a replaced blade, so unsure what the original blade looked like.
It was reported by the source in Kalimantan that it is a Dohong from Central Borneo, but two of the faces on the handle
are clearly Kayanic,
including an Aso figure. A third face with mustache looks more European than Dayak. A bit of a mystery with unclear origin or use.
