Menyuke Dayak. West Kalimantan, Borneo Island, Indonesia.
Hardwood. H: 45.5" (115.6 cm).
A standing male figure that served as a territory marker and village guardian. The figure once had a pair of arms
that fit into the slots at the shoulders that stretched out to either side, but are now missing. It is common for the arms
to eventually drop out of their slots and erode on the ground and are often not recovered when the statue is sold by the village.
An interesting feature is the face, which displays a larger and wider than usual nose and fuller lips than most Pantak examples.
