A wooden sculpture representing a guardian for a spring or other water source. Water sources are viewed as places inhabited by forces requiring protection and meditation. Water is considered a living space and any entities associated should be honored and appeased. These wood sculptures
were placed to preserve the balance between humans, nature, and spirits to ensuring the continuity of the water source.
