Lid from from reliquary box with archaic style dragon (Aso) guardian spirit. The head, body, tail, and three limbs are carved in high relief while one lower leg is carved in low relief, stretching and curling backwards and fading into the plane of the lid. This classic Kayanic imagery gives the impression of the dragon spirit partially emerging from one world into the next.
